James Baldwin Celebration

James Baldwin was one of the most important authors of the 20th century. His works included themes central to our lives-- from gay and bisexual identities to race and to socio-economics.

This event organized by the Unitarian Universalist Church in Westport will feature:

  • Distinguished guests: Dr. Rich Blint, NYU Visiting Scholar and Columbia University Research Affiliate, currently teaching at Barnard College's Department of Africana Studies, Dr. Jackie Goldsby, Professor of English & Chair, Department of African American Studies at Yale University, and Karen Thorsen, Filmmaker of the James Baldwin Project
  • Film screening of the James Baldwin Project followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session and a reception

This event is free and open to the public.
