The Laramie Project at UUCD Danbury

 the Laramie Project

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Danbury will be hosting a staged reading of the play the Laramie Project by Moises Kaufman and the Members of Tectonic Theater Project.

"Mathew Shepard in 1998 was a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming who was kidnapped, severely beaten and left to die, tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming. He was the victim of this assault because he was gay. The Tectonic Theatre Project interviewed more than 200 people in Laramie and created this play to explore the breadth of the reactions to this hate crime and share their experiences."

There will be three performances:

  1. October 10, 7:30 PM
  2. October 11, 7:30 PM
  3. October 12, 4:00 PM

Suggested donation:

  1. $15.00 each or 2 for $20.00
  2. $5.00 with a current student ID.

This will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Danbury at 24 Clapboard Ridge Road in Danbury.
