Stamford’s Andrew McDonald to lead city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade

STAMFORD — Andrew McDonald, a city native and state Supreme Court justice, will lead Stamford’s March 5 St. Patrick’s Day parade.

McDonald was selected as the downtown parade’s grand marshal by the Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. He will be honored at a dinner at the Stamford Sheraton Hotel on March 4.

McDonald attended the city’s public schools, graduated from Cornell University and received his law degree from UConn. He was appointed to the court in 2013 after serving as chief legal advisor to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and his cabinet.

He began his legal career in the Stamford office of Pullman and Comley and has served on the city’s Board of Finance and the Board of Representatives. A former state senator, McDonald, the son of the late state Rep. Ann McDonald, headed theSenate Judiciary Committee before joining the Malloy administration.
