Mayor, Interfaith Council, LGBT Advocates to Raise Pride Flag at Government Center Tomorrow


STAMFORD, CT – In light of the hateful attack on Pulse nightclub in Orlando this weekend, Mayor David Martin, faith leaders, and members of the local LGBT community will come together tomorrow, June 15, 2016 to raise the Pride flag at the Government Center. The flag raising event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the flag poles located along the Washington Blvd. side of the Government Center.


The month of June is celebrated yearly as LGBT Pride Month to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan.


WHO: Mayor Martin; Director of Public Safety, Health and Welfare Ted Jankowski; Reverend Kate Heichler; Representatives from the Triangle Community Center, Fairfield County’s only LGBT center; Members of the Interfaith Council
