THIS IS A FREE EVENT
Trans Day of Visibility is meant to acknowledge and celebrate the lives of transgender people across the world.
To honor Trans Day of Visiblity, Triangle Community Center is hosting a dinner and dialogue event featuring a facilitated discussion with Kristen Parker-Lovell, named one of the 2015 Trans 100 and Creator/Director of Trans in Action.
Dinner is at 6:30 pm
In addition to dinner and conversation, we will be screening a video that will highlight your voices- if you choose to participate.
- submit a video prior to the event
- film your video at the event with our equipment and have it added later
- elect not to partake in the video at all but attend and enjoy yourself!
The Video Booth allows us to tell our stories, ourselves. This is in a effort to rewrite the "victim" narrative and show the world that although we face increased discrimination and violence, our lives are beautiful and multi faceted. We are encouraging Trans and Gender Non-Conforming folks to upload a video to this event page and use the hashtag #TransVisibility
The videos will be put together to make a small video to show at the Trans Day of Visibility event at Triangle Community Center in Norwalk CT on April 1st.
A few questions to help start you off with your video:
*Your name and where you are from
*What is your favorite food?
*If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?
*Who are the people you love the most?
*Who loves you the most?
*If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
*What does the future look like to you?
*What does trans visibility mean to you?
*and anything else you want people to know about you.
Upload the video to this page and tell your story, yourself.
