Warhol & Mapplethorpe: Guise & Dolls Exhibit Private Guided Tour & Day at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford

OUTdoor & More and the Senior Arts Program invite you to a day of art and discussion at the Wadsworth Atheneum Art Museum in Hartford, Sunday, November 15th.

Prominent visionary artists in the LGBT community, Warhol & Mapplethorpe: Guise & Dolls will include the artists’ portraits of each other, self-portraits and iconic portraits of sitters that address role-playing and gender roles–masculinity, femininity and androgyny.

We’ll carpool from TCC’s parking lot at 11:30am.  Please RSVP.

If you prefer to meet at the Wadsworth Atheneum, check in is at 1pm, tour begins promptly at 1:30pm & is 1 hour long. Afterwards we are free to explore the museum.

Discount group rate is $8 per person; please bring cash & exact change.

Bring a lunch for the commute or there is a café at the museum. No food or drinks in the museum exhibit.

In conjunction with our day at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum we invite you to a Printmaking Class where we’ll learn to create original prints inspired by the Warhol & Mapplethorpe Exhibit and their graphic styles.


The class is for all skill levels and will be taught by local artists Ceora Derow & Khalaf Jerry. Prints will be presentation and gift ready for the holidays. Class date in early December, to be determined, please check the TCC website calendar. Free to attend and all ages welcome.
