STILL ALICE (2014). Julianne Moore won an Oscar for her portrayal of Alice Howland, a linguistics professor at Columbia diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Written and directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland and based on Lisa Genova's 2007 bestselling novel. the film also stars Alec Baldwin plays her husband, John and Kristen Stewart, Kate Bosworth, and Hunter Parrish play her children, Lydia, Anna and Tom.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a rating of 89%. The site's consensus reads, "Elevated by a gripping performance from Julianne Moore, Still Alice is a heartfelt drama that honors its delicate themes with bravery and sensitivity."
