Kids with HeART

Second Sunday of Each Month

3:00PM - 4:30PM

Ages 6-12

Free, Monthly, No RSVP Required

About the program:

This is a free, monthly, art and play group for transgender, gender creative, and gender expansive youth ages 6-12. Gender creative kids color outside the lines of the gender box they were assigned at birth. They don't listen when people say that girls can't play with trucks and boys can't wear tutus. If this sounds like your child, please join us to create a safe space where we can rewrite the rules together. The only requirement for attendance is respect for the other participants' creativity. This group meets at the same time and one program room over from PFLAG - the parent, peer, and friend support group. Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay and attend PFLAG if possible.

Transgender, Gender Nonconforming & Gender Questioning Youth Forum

Second and Last Sunday of Each Month

3:00PM - 4:30PM

Ages 13-24

Free, Bi-monthly, No RSVP Required

About the program:

This is a bi-monthly support group providing youth ages 13-24 with an environment to discuss gender that meets on the second and last Sunday of each month.

This group welcomes anyone who identifies as transgender, gender queer, gender questioning, gender variant, gender nonconforming, and any other gender minority or creative identity. The group creates a safe space and supportive place to discuss the complexities of gender within one's personal life as well as other gender-related topics that come up in the media or elsewhere.

The first meeting of the month always coincides with a monthly meeting for parents, spouses, and families (PFLAG) in which participant's families are welcome to attend.

About the facilitator:

Micaela Scully, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who comes from a background in mental health, addiction, as well as queer advocacy. Persons are welcome to contact Micaela with questions or concerns about this program, or to be added to the email list, at: micaelascully@gmail.com. Micaela is more than willing to speak to parents should a potential member or group member feel that would be helpful. Speaking to the family is not a requirement to come to this program.
