Frequently Asked Questions About Programs

1Where are TCC programs held?
Programs are held at Triangle Community Center (650 West Ave), above Circle Care Center (618 West Ave), online via zoom, and sometimes off-site at locations disclosed by Program Leaders.
2Are there any costs associated with attending a program?
All TCC programs are free of charge unless otherwise noted.
3Which programs can folks under 18 attend?
Programs are clearly marked with age ranges to ensure the participants, language, and subject matter are appropriate for those involved. If you or your child are on the cusp of the age range, check with your program leader for suitability. We encourage youth and families to explore our ever-growing list of programs just for them!
4How do I get a link for a virtual program?
Contact the Program Leader associated with the group, ideally 24 hours before the group meets to make sure they have time to send you a link. Please do not share a link with others who have not gotten it directly from the Program Leader.
5What can I expect at YAS! Young Adult Space?
YAS! is a drop in space where folks 18-25 can come to the center and know there will be a case manager there on-site to chat, answer questions, share resources, and provide other entry level case management. This is a casual space where young adults can openly explore the issues they're facing and start taking steps to tackle them. Conversations can happen over video games, board games, through art, or just hanging out; our social work interns are here to help you feel comfortable and empowered to take on the world.
6Do I have to RSVP for a program?
Read the description for each program carefully to see whether a program requires an RSVP. Some of our programs provide food or materials and need a headcount ahead of time. Others have a cap on how many participants can join in a meeting. Double check the description and contact the Program Leader to be sure.
7I’m not sure I identify as LGBTQ+, can I still attend a program?
Allies and Questioning folks are welcome to social, wellness, and recovery groups as long as they are respectful of others in attendance. For peer support groups, please check with the Program Leader if you are questioning your identity and want to know if one of the closed peer support groups is right for you. Due to the sensitive nature of the support groups, we ask allies to contact TCC staff or Program Leaders for other ways they can learn and support the community without attending these private spaces.
8I am looking for a program I do not see listed. Who do I contact?
Most of our groups are run by community members who volunteer their time, and unfortunately some groups are no longer active if they are unable to continue running it. If you're interested in leading or attending a new program at TCC, submit a TCC Program Proposal (located toward bottom of page) to let us know!
9Do you offer any programs in languages other than English?
As of fall 2023, there are no current programs in any language other than English. If you would like to start one, we would love to hear about it! Please submit a TCC Program Proposal (located towards bottom of page).

Still have questions? Let's talk programs!

Are you unsure which group is right for you? Are you a service provider interested in referring a client to these groups and would like more information? Never attended a group before and would like to know what to expect?
