In Case You Missed It: A Master List of Pride in the Park 2017 Updates

This week we are compiling our latest Pride in the Park 2017 announcements and putting them all in one place for you! Read more for information about upcoming volunteer meetings, entertainment announcements, VIP tickets and Pride After Dark.

Pride in the Park Volunteering

There have been two volunteer meetings so far, and there are two left! If you want to be a Pride volunteer, sign up here. Volunteers are asked to attend TCC's volunteer meetings to go over roles and responsibilities for the day, discuss how TCC can support the volunteers in their roles, and get to know one another. TCC's two remaining volunteer meetings are:

  • Wednesday, May 31st from 7PM - 8:30PM at Triangle Community Center (618 West Avenue)
  • Wednesday, June 7th from 6:30PM - 8PM at the Pride site- Mathews Park (650 West Avenue)

The content of these two meetings will be different, and volunteers are encouraged to attend both if they are first-time Pride volunteers! The meeting at Mathews Park will be a walk-through of the venue and overview of the timeline, event map, and volunteer roles, which can be helpful for visual learners, newcomers, and anyone who wants a refresher course!

If you can not attend the volunteer meetings, that's fine! Just contact Layne Gianakos at Layne@CTpridecenter.org. During the festival, all volunteers will check in at Headquarters to receive their free volunteer t-shirts and volunteer assignment.

Pride in the Park Entertainment

Over the past two years, Pride in the Park has welcomed nationally and internationally known headliners, including Raven and JuJuBee, Alyssa Edwards, Laganja Estranja, Shangela, and Tiffany. Pride in the Park 2017 welcomes RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 alum Trixie Mattel, dance music artist Crystal Waters, and lesbian comedian Julie Goldman. Trixie Mattel will be joining more local talent at Pride After Party, the official Pride in the Park after party, at Trevi Lounge in Fairfield. DJ Lady Tita, a TCC event veteran, will be providing the beats at both events!

Filling the stage throughout the day will be Connecticut-based LGBTQ performance artists, dancers, and drag talent.

From 12PM - 4PM, family-friendly activities will be available throughout the park and on stage, including:
