PFLAG is now at TCC! Come and join other parents for support, information, resources (and yes, laughter) as we share the worries, challenges, surprises, and joys of supporting our transgender, gender non-conforming, lesbian, gay, bisexual or queer kids.
Many people don’t know where to turn when a loved one comes out as LGBTQ. This news may bring tears and fear for the safety of the person coming out. You may be confused, sad, angry, or just want somebody to talk to. PLFAG holds monthly meetings to provide support and information for those whose loved ones are exploring personal issues of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.
At PFLAG, we may initially come for help, but ultimately we help each other and share our journeys and learn from each other. That said, there is no pressure to speak up, or reveal anything beyond your own comfort level at our confidential meetings. Some of our stories may be helpful to you in sorting out your own possibly conflicting feelings.
The first hour of our meetings (3:00 - 4:00) will focus on issues of transgender/gender creative children of all ages, while the second hour of the meeting will be more general, for parents of kids across the LGBTQ spectrum.
New members are always welcome to the group! Contact pflaghartford@gmail.com or call Lori at (860) 305-2743 f you have further questions.
