About the event:
Triangle Community Center's Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Advisory Committee hosts an all day entirely free event with something for all ages, including educational and empowering panels, groups, a self-care lounge complete with a fun photobooth, self-care services, lunch, and a community art corner.
Individuals will have the opportunity to meet new people, learn new things, and have a day for themselves. This event aims to highlight the experiences of transgender people in Connecticut, garner connection in the community, and provide an affirming space for transgender, gender nonforming, genderqueer, bigender, agender, and two spirit people to be visible, authentic, and in charge of the conversation around empowerment and visibility.
If you are interested in attending, RSVP today. (It helps us to order the right amount of food!)
If you are interested in volunteering, getting involved by providing self-care services, or have comments, questions, or concerns, please reach out to the contact below.
If you are unable to attend but want to support the efforts, share this event on social media or to your own networks!
About Transgender Day of Visibility:
Transgender Day of Visibility is an event held annually on March 31 in many queer communities to acknowledge the achievements and lives of transgender, genderqueer, nonbinary, and agender individuals. The event is meant to provide a platform to amplify transgender voices and make the experiences of transgender individuals more visible both within the LGBTQ community and in the general population.
