Triangle Emergency Services Fund

Dear Friend,

You have supported Triangle Community Center during good times and challenging times and we are grateful.

Today we come to you with an urgent need.  We must raise $30,000 by September 1st to keep up with the growing demand for our programs and services. Here’s why:

Our office has been closed during COVID, but our programs have continued in virtual space.  Attendance for programs and support groups for our LGBTQ community is growing in numbers and demand for mental health services is skyrocketing; we now have a waitlist to get help.

With these growing needs, our team of staff and volunteers are still leading support groups to reach diverse populations:

Peer Support, including Triangle Transgender Society, Bisexual & Allies, LGBTQ Relationships, Non-Binary Support, PFLAG Norwalk, and more.

Recovery groups, like AA, Al Anon, Big Book meeting for LGBTQ, and Narcotics Anonymous

Social groups including Queer People of Color, GAYmes Night, Coffee Talk, and LGBTQ Women’s Social

Youth and Young Adult Groups, including, Gender Questioning Youth, and Young Adult Space (YAS!)

We have now created the Triangle Emergency Services Fund to support these emergent needs:

  • Food assistance for clients without access to food.
  • Mental Health counseling during this COVID pandemic and beyond.  We must expand our team of counselors        and interns to serve the growing need in our communities.
  • Navigation of homeless, underinsured, and uninsured.
  • Assistance with driver’s licenses, name changes, and ID needs.

Like many other nonprofits, TCC is feeling the affects of COVID in terms of reduced budget and an a substantial increase in need.

You can help us keep these essential programs and services going during a time when they are most needed. Please make a donation to join your colleagues and friends in support of TCC’s unique and important work.

We truly are stronger together, and we value your trust and support.

Thank you,

Edson Rivas, Interim Executive Director

Colin Hosten, President, Board of Directors

UPDATE:  We have just received word that an anonymous donor will match every dollar up to $5,000!  So please give generously and know you have our greatest thanks.  (And to our anonymous donor, thanks for believing in us!)

Who's donating: from Norwalk, CT donated. Thank you!
